7 day birdwatching tour travelling through outback Australian towns Mt Isa, Boulia, Dajarra, Winton, Lark Quarry, Bladensburg Nat Park and Cloncurry.
This fully accommodated adventure is run as a circuit tour through some of the more remote and outstanding birding locations in North West Queensland. It begins and concludes in the iconic mining town of Mt Isa which is situated in the middle of some very dramatic and richly coloured Australian landscapes.
Additional experiences include a visit to the eye-opening marine fossil display at the outback town of Boulia and a fabulous tour of the 'Lark Quarry Dinosaur Stampede' south of Winton, a wonderful insight into life beside a waterhole many millions of years ago.
Apart from just being out there and immersing oneself into the vastness of Outback Queensland, this selected route is undertaken to enable us to target a very special suite of birds. Including: Kalkadoon, Carpentarian and Rusty Grasswren, Grey Falcon, Painted, Long-tailed and Plumhead Finch, Pictorella Mannikin, Spinifexbird, Halls Babbler, Cloncurry Ringneck, Flock Bronzewing and Rufous-crowned Emu-wren to name a few.
Traveling with a small group (4 pax only) in a luxury 4wd with experienced North Queensland guide David Mead is certainly a rewarding and memorable way to unearth this region's hidden birding secrets.
See some of Australia's rarest birds from North West Queensland.
Come out and enjoy the real Australian Outback!
